Prague in 2 Days: How to Plan It Without Wasting a Day
Two days in Prague is enough - if you plan them the right way. The three rules a local uses to build a two-day Prague itinerary, and how to get one built for you.
By Viki Ben David · Prague researcher and personal trip planner

Two days in Prague is short, but it is enough - if you stop trying to see everything. I live here, and the mistake I watch visitors make every week is the same one: they zig-zag across the river four times a day and spend half the trip walking back over the same bridge.
Rule 1: one side of the river per day
Prague's centre is split by the Vltava. Keep day one on the Old Town side (Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, the riverbank) and day two on the castle side (Prague Castle, Malá Strana, the viewpoints). You will walk far less and see far more.
Rule 2: plan around the crowds, not around the map
Charles Bridge has exactly two good windows: before 8:00 and after 21:00. The Old Town Square is a different city at 8:00 than at noon. Timing matters more here than distance - the same walk can be magic or miserable depending on the hour you choose.
Rule 3: eat two streets away
Anywhere with a photo menu on a main square costs double and tastes half. The good Czech kitchens are one or two streets behind the crowds, and they rarely show up in search results in English.
Don't build it alone - get the map or a personal plan
The reason a two-day trip feels rushed is almost never the schedule. It is the twenty small decisions you have to make in the street: where to eat right now, which viewpoint is worth the climb, what is open, what is five minutes away. That is exactly what my secret map of Prague solves - 200+ hand-picked places on your phone, sorted by distance from wherever you are standing, with one-tap walking directions.
- The secret map of Prague - every place I would send a friend to, live on your phone.
- A personal itinerary - I build your two days around your dates, your pace and who is travelling with you.
- The Christmas map - if you are coming in December, the markets change everything.
Choose one and your two days stop being a checklist and start being a trip. If you are not sure which fits you, send me a message and tell me your dates - I answer personally.
